Hypnotherapy Can Help With Menopause
There was a great article posted in the Metro in May 2018, that talks about an initiative in Birmingham, England that offers hypnotherapy treatments to help police women who were going through menopause in assisting them in how to manage or deal with menopause sweats, lack of concentration and memory issues.
The experiment was a tremendous success and has lead to other police forces adopting hypnotherapy treatments to help reduce or eliminate the symptoms of menopause. The hypnotherapy treatment was a free service offered by the police force to help women deal with hot flashes and the results were very positive. Having said that, in reading this article I identify that this can be effective in mild menopause symptoms. For those ladies who are having severe symptoms hypnotherapy can also assist as an add-on treatment to herbal, natural treatments and even HRT (hormonal replacement therapy).
Personally, as a post-menopausal woman who had severe menopause. I reached out and tried a number of different things to try to overcome or deal with my menopause including:
- traditional Chinese medicine
- bio-identical hormones
- HRT (Hormone Replacement Treatment)
I also did counselling in an effort to “reconcile” this stage of my life per instructions and recommendations. When you’re dealing with severe menopause, you are reaching out for ANYTHING that will help.
Hypnotherapy helped me.
As a result of my experience with hypnotherapy as a treatment for my menopause, I currently treat many ladies that are peri-menopausal, menopausal or post-menopausal.
Peri-menopausal is the start of menopause.
Women don’t understand what is happening to their bodies and experience a new level of anxiety that they can’t understand. Then comes back pain and insomnia (which makes the anxiety worse), restless legs, all of which are not understood and are generally not treated when medical doctors look at blood results and see that estrogen levels are not in the menopausal range… guess what… it’s the start! Let me help you with tools to manage this before it intensifies. The grin and bear it method is NOT something I would advise.
The next step is menopause.
I see lots of ladies who are experiencing menopause who have tried various other methods to try to manage or overcome the symptoms/effects of menopause. Hypnotherapy is a great option. Give it a try!
Post Menopause and How to Deal With It
Guess what, even when menopause is over,… it’s most likely NOT. Some of the symptoms can continue to persist though they are not as severe or as long. The most common ones are the insomnia and the hot flash (boiling) for about an hour or so. I have some clients in their 80’s and 90’s who are still experiencing some menopausal symptoms (but the episodes are milder and don’t last as long). I don’t want to leave you with a pessimistic forlorn outlook, explore your options. Try different things. The grin and bear it method isn’t going to help you.
Are You Peri-Menopausal?
Are you feeling anxious?
Are you feeling angry?
Do you have a bad back?
Are you suddenly putting on weight?
All these could be symptoms of menopause. Everyone talks about hot flashes but there are many other indications. I have read that there are at least 30 different symptoms of menopause.
You don’t need to grin and bear it. Get help. I can empathise and will do my best to assist in making a positive transition to the next stage of life.
